I just carved the shape into the outside face of one of my RTV moulds using a sharp knife, then drop cast in some metal. Came out as a sort of plaque effect, I then just cut off the horse from its "background" and filed up to finish. Looks ok at that scale, compromise between making it robust enough and finest and positioning of the legs.

Cheers

JohnJohn Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02449124628273885977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4596685140059117184.post-85836588679225695212012-07-07T12:49:11.204+01:002012-07-07T12:49:11.204+01:00John fantastic work- i have been looking around fo...John fantastic work- i have been looking around for a good Murat figure and after seeing yours i'll plump for connoisseur. I tend to start with a darkish shade of the main uniform colour, in this case a reddish brown for the escort and a mid grey for Murat. I then build up the colours and depth using a combination of oil washes and acyrilics as required. I find this tends to give a good degree of "richness" to the tones.

Cheers

JohnJohn Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02449124628273885977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4596685140059117184.post-23234723744717454682012-04-28T23:40:38.310+01:002012-04-28T23:40:38.310+01:00Bloody marvelous!!
